How it Works: Single Elimination
The classic knockout format. Lose once and you are out.
How it works
Players are placed into a bracket. Each round, players are paired against each other. The winner advances to the next round, the loser is eliminated. This continues until only one player remains — the champion.
Best for
Quick tournaments with many players. A 16-player tournament needs only 4 rounds.
Good to know
The number of participants ideally should be a power of 2 (4, 8, 16, 32). If not, some players get a "bye" (free pass) in the first round.
